COPYRIGHT

About copyright in Australia:

Australian law recognises that individuals have the right to protect the moral and economic interests arising from their creative works. Copyright is a form of intellectual property that protects a variety of literary, artistic, musical and dramatic endeavours as well as other things such as sound recordings and films. It is not ideas but their expression that are protected by copyright law.

In Australia, copyright law is governed by the Copyright Act 1968 (the Act), and in court decisions that have interpreted the provisions of the Act. The Act is amended from time to time to keep the law up to date.

The law gives owners of copyright exclusive rights to do certain things with their material. Copyright is intended to protect creative works from being used without the agreement of the owner and to provide an incentive for creators to continue to create new material.

PRODUCT LIABILITY

Our wall decals are most often applied to a clean, smooth interior wall, however you can apply it to any clean, smooth surface: windows, doors, floors, ceilings, mirrors, glass splash backs, shower screens, furniture, fridges, dishwashers, metal surfaces, cars, boats, laptops, phones – just to name a few.

The compatibility of certain paints (particularly wash-and-wear, and those containing teflon) or surfaces should be tested by the user prior to application of the wall decal. If in doubt, please order a sample first.

Surfaces to which the decal will be applied must be throughly cleaned (sugar soap is ideal for cleaning) and free from dust, grease or any contamination which could affect the adhesion of the wall decal. Freshly lacquered or painted surfaces should be allowed to dry for at least three weeks or until completely cured.

Wall decals are removable and will not damage or leave residue on most surfaces. However, since there can be variations in paint used and quality and age of painted surfaces, we cannot guarantee the surface will be unaffected upon removal of the wall decal. If there is any remaining residue on the wall, it can easily be cleaned with sugar soap or a similar product. If you are in doubt, you can test your surface with a piece of masking tape or order a sample from us.

The professional high quality vinyl we use is specifically manufactured for interior wall decal applications and is removable. However, because of the variety in surfaces, WallsThatTalk® cannot guarantee, that our wall decals will stick to any surface and is not liable for damage caused to surfaces as a result of wall decal application or removal.
